Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions are proud to have been one of the very early deliverers of the significant advantages cloud hosted property management software brings to our clients. It wasn’t just by luck however. Clarity’s cloud hosted property management software systems were built on technology that was intrinsically low in data transfer overheads and fundamentally reliable.

When our UK client Oxford Hotel Group adopted Clarity Hotel Manager in 2007, it was on the basis that we could host it on their sister company’s cloud hosting platform and deliver it to their 19 hotels over the internet. No problem…

Since those days the hosting environment has evolved to the point where cloud hosting is now the norm. Between hosting on a specific Windows instance on a specific server and the ‘now generation’ transparent, invisible, hosting services delivered on demand by Amazon and others is a vast quantum leap.

There’s also a vast difference in the systems that use these ‘invisible’ services. Clarity’s bold decision in 1997 to go with a technology ‘designed for that new thing called the Internet’ was an inspired choice. That technology has evolved at pace and with it the look and feel of Clarity’s products, as well as their sophistication. Watch this space for the next generation on their way in 2025.

But what hasn’t changed are the benefits Cloud Hosting brings to the users of Clarity systems. The requirements for accessing the system are minimal – just good internet and relatively low-cost devices or PC’s. Gone are the days of expensive servers that needed replacing every few years, operating systems that needed expensive licences and networks that needed IT professionals to maintain them. Gone are the days of constant network issues and things like printers that ‘just didn’t work’ when you needed them! Cloud hosting provides speed, ease of access, reliability and most of all, reduced costs.
